HARTLAND, Wis. (June 21, 2022) – JX Truck Centers hosted more than 50 customers representing top fleets from throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin at a recent electric vehicle ride-and-drive event held at the J.A. Air Center (Sugar Grove, Ill.). In addition to test driving a fully electric Peterbilt Model 579 daycab and a medium-duty cabover Model 220, customers learned more about EV technologies and met with key suppliers.
“Electric-powered vehicles can help customers reduce operating costs and improve fleet efficiencies in the right applications,” said Marty Kleker, JX Enterprises’ Vice President of Truck Sales. “It’s proven technology that continues to gain more interest and market share as customers realize the many benefits it can provide, including eliminating volatile diesel fuel costs, reduced maintenance and creating a more environmentally responsible business, which continues to grow in importance to grow in importance for many for hire and private fleets including local municipalities.”
The day-long event featured educational seminars, personalized cost-benefit analysis, grant opportunities and facetime with electric vehicle technology experts from JX Truck Centers, Peterbilt, EnTech Solutions, Meritor, Muncie Power and The Legacy Group.
“There is a lot of interest in electric-powered vehicles, particularly among local- and regional operations, and this event was a perfect opportunity for them to learn more and gain behind-the-wheel experience,” Kleker added. “Customers were particularly impressed with the vehicles’ torque capabilities, quiet operation and regenerative braking technology.”
