Today marks a milestone for JX: 45 years of excellence and leadership in the trucking industry.
Founded in 1970, JX was started by Chuck Jorgensen, an individual with a vision for the future and a passion for trucking. The company began with just five Associates and an unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction.
Since 1970, the organization has evolved to encompass sixteen dealerships, finance, full-service leasing, rental and graphics services as well as over 800 Associates who still possess the same dedication to customer satisfaction.
“It’s pretty amazing to see things grow from a team of five to over 800 Associates. It makes me feel good,” said Founder, Chuck Jorgensen.
To commemorate the 45 years, the company has created an anniversary logo.
This new mark combines the many parts that make JX what it is today. Gleaming with the symbolic 45-year sapphire blue color, the logo pulls in elements from two of the brands that have fueled their success: Peterbilt and VOLVO. The top of the design mirrors the Peterbilt fuel cap pull while the silver outer circle was inspired by a Volvo truck fuel cap. Central to the design is the JX logo with its iconic “X” symbol of infinite possibilities down the road. Tying it all together is the blue ribbon to signify “Best in Class”.
Family owned, JX has successfully moved to its second generation of ownership. With the same passion and drive, the Jorgensen family continues to provide paramount customer service, quality equipment and dedication to the community.
“I am proud to see this organization withstand the test of time. In 45 years, we have seen a lot of changes, from technology shifts and emission standards to economic booms and sharp declines. I am pleased that we have been able to provide leadership and first class service for the long haul. But, I feel we’re just getting started.
Our vision, and passion for the trucking industry will push us to raise the bar even higher over the next 45 years.” added Eric Jorgensen, President & CEO.
Vice President of Sales, Kurt Jorgensen, stated, “Employing competent, intelligent and highly motivated people has been the key to our success. We couldn’t have done it without them.”
From the start, the Jorgensens have stressed the importance of being a good corporate citizen. This means giving back to the community. The company supports many charities and organizations, including Ellen’s Icebreaker for Cancer Research, Special Olympics, Make-A-Wish, the MACC fund, and the Boy Scouts of America. JX also supports local hospitals and food pantries. Other important initiatives include support for Alzheimer’s and juvenile diabetes research.
The “Casual for a Cause” program, provides Associates the opportunity to wear jeans on Friday for a contribution – the business unit raising the most money, selects the next month’s charity. Recently, JX became participants in the Adopt-a-Highway program helping to keep roadways litter free.
“We are thankful to the thousands of people past and present who helped us reach the 45 year milestone. In partnership with our customers, Associates, and suppliers, we look forward to continued successes and to reaching even greater heights during the many years ahead.”
