U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) stopped by JX Truck Center – Milwaukee recently. Eric Jorgensen, President & CEO of JX, hosted the visit.

“Maintaining relationships with key representatives, like Paul Ryan, is important to our industry,” said Jorgensen. “Often, politicians do not understand how a piece of legislation might affect our people. An open dialog informs and helps keep important issues top of mind.”

After a brief dealership tour, Jorgensen took Congressman Ryan for a drive in a 2015 Peterbilt, Anniversary Model 579. Following the test drive, Rep. Ryan and Jorgensen met with staff from the dealership, the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association, Time Transport, and NADA-ATD for a discussion of key legislative and regulatory priorities.

Among the issues highlighted were concerns with the 12 percent Federal Excise Tax (FET) on new trucks, finding revenues to fund the highway bill, tax reform and impending greenhouse gas regulations for commercial trucks.
