Truckers move things, it’s what they do.

Unfortunately, a career that involves moving things means many hours sitting behind the wheel. This sedentary side of trucking can be problematic, however there are things you can do to combat the effects of being in the driver’s seat. Your body is a great piece of equipment when you put it to work. Here are a few things you can do to up your horsepower:

  • Walking Lunges
  • Air Squats
  • Jumping jacks
  • Push ups
  • Planks
  • Shoulder shrugs
  • Jumping rope
  • Walking/jogging

It is recommended that you incorporate 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise daily. You can do this all at once or break it up into shorter, 10-minute sessions throughout the day.

Fortunately, as a driver, you stop often in order to fuel up, grab some food, or break for your re-start. These are great opportunities to incorporate some exercise into your routine.

Don’t let the monotony of sitting be a roadblock to better health and well being. Be active, be alert, and get moving!
